It’s just out of the box, the idea is absolutely radical, no one here at Besthouse can ever imagine that this 1931 Water Tower was transformed into a modern apartment. Zecc Architects, the master mind behind this transformation of the 1931 water tower in Soest, Netherlands, has changed it into a contemporary home with nine levels. It’s old definitely and full with challenges. This unique home renovation will not only find difficulties in arranging floor plan but also lighting issue, where this tower actually has few small windows.
So what did the architect do for the solution at this old tower? The architecture has smartly inserted a three-level high window that makes the light can come inside without any interference and also without the need of having to change the tower’s mid-century appearance. All the rooms here are circular and connected through stairs. The architect also managed to build an unconventional terrace which is located on the last level. Enjoy this original and mind-blowing project.
